RAWALPINDI: The police arrested 17 outlaws including proclaimed offender, gamblers, drug pusher, street criminals and recovered arms, narcotics and state money during separate actions in different areas of Rawalpindi on Wednesday. The Rawalpindi’s Westridge Police during a crackdown in its jurisdiction arrested three gamblers identified as Tariq, Nafees and Nasir besides recovering Rs8500 stake money, two cell phones and gambling tools from their possession.
A proclaimed offender Zohaib Saeed who along with his accomplices had killed a citizen Nasir over personal grudge was arrested during a raid in Sadiqabad.
The police during crackdowns against drug pushers in jurisdiction of New Town, Sadiqabad, Gujar Khan, Gunj Mandi, Bani and Race Course police stations arrested nine drug peddlers including Haris, Musa Fiaz, Usman, Arshad, Zafar Iqbal, Dawood, Fiaza, Nasir and Hairson besides recovering over two kilogram hashish and 45 litres liquor from their possession. Four culprits Yousaf, Zohaib, Imran and Ahsan were arrested during separate actions in Nasirabad, RA Bazaar, Saddar Baironi and Kahuta areas besides recovery of four 30 bore unlicensed pistols and ammunition from their possession. The police confiscated recovered weapons, drugs and other recovered items and after registering separate cases against detainees at concerned police stations started investigations.
