Police party escapes ambush

ISLAMABAD: A team of Islamabad Police, belonging to Golra Police Station was attacked by gunmen here on Monday afternoon but the cops escaped the ambush unhurt.
According to details, Investigation Officer of PS Golra Inspector Shaukat Wahla was taking Zulfiqar and Hanif, accused in a murder case, back to the police station after presenting them in the court, when they reached near E-11 Royal Marques, some unknown assailants on bikes, opened fire on the police team.
The Police party also responded with firing after which the assailants run away. Fortunately, the cops and arrested accused remained unharmed in the incident. The place has been cardoned off and hunt is on for the assailants.
According to the Police sources, the entire incident of firing was traced to either murder or free the accused arrested in FIR 306/21 under section 302/34. In another incident, in PS Ramna jurisdictions, some unknown killers on bikes opened fire on 2 persons, identified as Ejaz and Siddique, instantly killing the first and critically injuring Siddique as they were taking a stroll along the road.
Cops instantly reached the spot and shifted both to the hospital where the latter also succumbed to his injuries. The victims belonged to Peshawar and Charsada, respectively.
Cops are acquiring footages of Safe City cameras and undertaking all possible modern technology for swift arrest of the accused, involved in the incident.
