‘Political stability key for prosperity’

KARACHI: Former federal minister Mushahid Hussain Sayed has said that the political instability will not bring economic stability in country.
After attending Karachi Council on Foreign Relations, Mushahid Hussain during a media talk said that the absence of political stability will hinder the investment from abroad.
He urged for a consensus in all political forces for the sake of political stability in the country.
Mushahid Sayed said that when Nawaz Sharif was jailed on October 12, 1999, Bill Clinton was president of the United States. Clinton said his presidential term will come to an end on January 20, 2001. He said,” I want release of Nawaz Sharif from jail before the end of my presidential tenure”.
“Nawaz Sharif was sent to Saudi Arabia in a royal aircraft on December 10, 2000,” Mushahid said.
He said, “Biden will going to exit on November 05 and Trump is coming”. “Before a telephone call from outside, we ourselves should take decision and release all political prisoners”, he urged.Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed on Friday demanded general amnesty for political prisoners including incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder. “I was first to demand the release of the PTI chairman, now everyone should be pardoned after general elections,” Mushahid Hussain Syed said while speaking on the floor of the Senate of Pakistan.
The PML-N lawmaker said he also demanded the release of Nawaz Sharif during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rule and now demanding pardon for everyone including the PTI founder.
He said SIC should be allocated reserved seats in the assemblies.
Commenting on the missing persons, Mushahid Hussain Syed said more than 500 MQM-P missing workers have been recovered only 13 are missing. He said the report on the Balochistan missing persons was presented to the committee.The former prime minister is currently serving his jail terms in cipher, toshakhana and an ‘un-Islamic’ marriage case in the Adiala Jail.
Earlier after the election results, Mushahid Hussain Syed said PTI had emerged as the largest political party in the election.
“Nawaz Sharif should show magnanimity and extend his hand.”
“The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf should also be included in the system”. He must visit the PTI’s founder”, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senator advised his party leadership.
Earlier, Senior politician Mushahid Hussain has said that Pakistan was going in the direction of crisis as the country was facing domestic instability along with unsustainable foreign policy.
“The foreign policy is somewhat in crisis as we have gotten into fights with three of our neighbours in the last five years. China is also not happy with the terrorism in the country and their trust has taken a hit,” he said during his appearance on the private media show “KHABAR“.
Pakistan has gotten into fights with Iran and Afghanistan in recent times, he added.
