THATTA: Cable fault in K-Electric’s system causes power breakdown in Dhabeji, suspending 10 pumps supplying water to Karachi, a water corporation spokesper-son said on Sunday.
The spokesperson said that the power breakdown suspended electricity supply to third phase, fourth phase and K-III pumps house in Dhabeji, “Overall 10 pumps have stopped from 21 water pumps,” spokesperson said.
“The shutdown of 10 pumps in Dhabeji could partly affect water supply to Karachi,” spokesman apprehended. The power shutdown thus could affect the quantity of water being supplied to the me-tropolis.
“The water corporation authorities have been in contact with the K-Electric for an early restoration of the power supply,” official said.
The water pumps will be operationalized immediately with restoration of the power sup-ply in Dhabeji, spokesman added. –Agencies
