International Youth Day, observed annually on August 12, highlights the contributions of young people to societal development and raises awareness of the challenges they face.
In his address, PRCS Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari remarked, “On this International Youth Day, we stand with the global community in celebrating the remarkable achievements of our youth.
This year’s theme, ‘From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,’ emphasizes the vital role that digital literacy and innovation play in building a more equitable and sustainable future.”
He affirmed PRCS’s commitment to creating an environment where youth can thrive, innovate, and lead. Laghari noted that through various programs, initiatives, and capacity-building trainings, PRCS equips the younger generation with the tools and knowledge necessary to overcome challenges and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. “We take great pride in our youth, and their significant contributions across all sectors of society are well recognized,” he added.
The Chairman PRCS also urged all stakeholders, governments, civil society, the private sector, and educational institutions to invest in enhancing the digital skills of young people. “Let us work together to ensure that the digital pathways they pursue today lead to a more prosperous and sustainable future for all”.
The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and the distribution of certificates to outstanding young participants. The PRCS Youth and Volunteer Department continues to run mentorship programs throughout the year, with active participation from students across various educational institutions.
