Prime Minister Imran Khan will depart for a four-day official visit to China, media reported.
The second Belt and Road Forum will be held in Beijing and the premier is attending on an invitation from Chinese President Xi Jinping. The forum will start on Friday.
A high-level delegation comprising federal ministers and other senior officials will also accompany the premier during his visit.
On the first day, the prime minister will attend the inaugural session of the forum and deliver a keynote speech besides attending the state banquet to be hosted by President Jinping in the honour of world leaders.
He, along with other leaders, will attend the leaders’ roundtable sessions on the event’s second day.
The prime minister will also hold meetings with President Xi and his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang to promote bilateral relations between the two countries.
He will also meet world leaders on the sidelines of the forum.
China had welcomed PM Imran’s participation in the forum.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang, during a routine press briefing, said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a flagship project of Belt and Road Initiative had delivered benefits to the people of two countries with concrete outcomes
