President Xi urges full support for innovation

FUZHOU: Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on Wednesday said China will give full support to those who are committed to innovation and make contributions to the country.
Xi made the remarks when he visited RICOM, an optical lens company in the city of Fuzhou, the provincial capital of east China’s Fujian, during his inspection tour of the province.
Xi learned about the company’s products and visited the workshop to see the production of precision equipment.
When talking with employees of the company, Xi said innovation is a must for the country to continue making progress during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), and this requires those who can seize opportunities with a sense of responsibility and mission and have the capability to do the job well.
Meanwhile, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on Wednesday praised Fuzhou, capital city of east China’s Fujian Province, for its successful development during an inspection tour.
“I worked in Fuzhou for six to seven years. I came here at the age of 37 and spent the best years of my life here.
I gained a lot of experience and understanding,” said Xi when talking with local residents in a park in the city.
Xi said he envisaged building Fuzhou into an eco-friendly coastal city with beautiful landscape when he worked there. “Now it has developed even better than what had been envisaged at that time.”
Xi encouraged the local government to continue their efforts to deliver more tangible benefits to the people.
Moreover, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Wednesday inspected the city of Fuzhou during his trip to east China’s Fujian Province.
Xi visited Fudao, a 19-km-long pedestrian walkway, the historical and cultural block of Sanfangqixiang (Three Lanes and Seven Alleys) and RICOM, an optical lens company.
