President Zardari pays tribute to Major Tufail Shaheed on 68th martyrdom anniversary

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has paid tribute to Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, on his 68th martyrdom anniversary, honouring his immortal sacrifice and unmatched valour in defence of the motherland.
In his message, the president said Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed had laid down his life while eliminating the enemy’s illegal occupation in the Lakshmipur sector, writing a golden chapter in the history of the defence of the homeland.
President Zardari said that despite being severely wounded, Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed fought the enemy resolutely, accomplished his mission, and set a new example of devotion to duty, courage and steadfastness.
He said the great sacrifice and unmatched valour of Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed would forever remain a source of pride for the nation and a beacon of guidance for future generations.
The president said Pakistan would forever remain indebted to its martyrs, adding that these great sons of the nation form the strong foundation of the country’s freedom, sovereignty and national security.
He further said that the saga of courage displayed by Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed stood as a shining symbol of the resolve, professionalism and unwavering loyalty to the homeland of the officers and soldiers of Pakistan’s brave armed forces. –Agencies
