ISLAMABAD: Following the special interest and directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, a large-scale departmental promotion process has been initiated within the Islamabad Police.
As part of this process, and under the special instructions of the IGP, the Departmental Promotion Committee held several meetings to ensure merit-based and transparent promotions against vacant positions. During these meetings, senior officers reviewed the departmental records and professional capabilities of officers across different ranks who met the promotion criteria. Based on this assessment, 201 constables have been promoted to the rank of Head Constable.
Earlier this week, IGP Islamabad also promoted 11 Sub-Inspectors to Inspectors, and earlier this month, 62 Head Constables were promoted to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), while four Inspectors were elevated to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). The promotion notifications have been issued with the approval of the IGP.
On this occasion, IGP Islamabad stated “Promotions of police officers are among our top priorities. Departmental promotions reflect increased responsibility and trust, and promotion is the fundamental right of every police officer.”
He further said “All officers should perform their duties with dedication and professionalism. I expect them to fulfill their responsibilities with honesty and efficiency, and to uphold the reputation of this department of martyrs and heroes with full commitment and vigilance.”
The IGP Islamabad also emphasized “The welfare of the police force is among my key priorities. All officers who have passed the required departmental promotion courses will be promoted on the basis of merit and transparency, according to their seniority and against available vacancies. This process will continue until all vacant positions are filled.”
