ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police Sangjani police stations teams have arrested 666 accused including those involved in a series of criminal activities during the last five months and recovered valuables worth Rs 24.82 million from their possession.
According to the details, following the special directions of Islamabad capital city police officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, special tasks were assigned to all zonal DPOs and police teams to arrest those involved in heinous crime and recover the looted items.
Following these directions, the Sangjani police teams conducted a massive crackdown against the criminal elements and succeeded in apprehending 666 criminals, 27 absconders and proclaimed offenders during the last five months.
Police teams also recovered valuables worth Rs 24.82 million from their possession. The Sangjani police team also arrested notorious gangs involved in blind murder and numerous snatching activities.
Similarly, the Sangjani police submitted the challan of 642 cases to the relevant courts after completing the investigation on merit and transparency. During this period the police teams also recovered 07 stolen vehicles, 16 stolen motorbikes, mobile phones and laptops.
Moreover, 20,303 gram heroin and 12,656 gram hashish, 34 pistols, 03 rifles with ammunition were also recovered. The Sangjani police teams also arrested 57 professional beggars and their handlers.
Senior police officers appreciated this overall performance adding that it is the prime responsibility of police to provide relief to the citizens and every possible effort would be made to ensure it.
