Karachi: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 draft is just around the corner as the first-round pick order has been confirmed today.
PSL’s official Twitter handle revealed the pick order and the two-time winners Islamabad United will have the first-round platinum picks this time around.
The reigning champions, Karachi Kings will have the last pick in the first round of the draft while Multan Sultans will have second and PSL 5’s runners-up Lahore Qalandars will have the third pick. Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators will have fourth and fifth pick respectively.
The pick order for round one of the PSL 2021 Player Draft was decided after a random draw in the presence of representatives of all six franchises at the PCB headquarters in Lahore. The next 17 rounds were decided through a special statistical tool.
It must be noted that the CEO of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Wasim Khan said in an interview last month that the league’s draft will be held in the first week of January while the tournament will commence from February 20th to March 21st just like the last season.
