LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint a new director of their brand Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Currently, Babar Hamid – also PCB’s Director Commercial is looking after PSL matters. But, following immense criticism on the board after PSL 6 got postponed due to mismanagement, an option of bringing a permanent director came under consideration.
PCB will advertise for PSL’s new director tomorrow. Interested people can apply for this post by May 13. The new director’s first assignment would be PSL 6’s remaining matches that are scheduled from June 1 to 20 in Karachi.
Remember, PCB was highly criticized after the COVID-19 outbreak in bio-secure bubble led to the postponement of PSL 6 after just 14 matches. In connection with this postponement, PCB’s Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee – Dr. Sohail Saleem resigned.
A two-member fact-finding committee was formed to investigate the lackings which created problems and that committee presented a report based on suggestions to the PCB last month.
