KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi ended its sit-in and protest against K-Electric on sixth day after assurances from Governor Sindh. The protest was called off after a high level meeting at Governor House on Saturday after which Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Federal Minister Asad Umar reached the protest site.Talking to media, Asad Umad told that from tomorrow (Sunday), unannounced loadshedding will be ended. All relevant supplies are increased to ensure it. Karachi will get 550 MW electricity before 2021 summers which will be 1300 additional. More 800 MW will be added before 2023.
“K-Electric is a private body which was privatized by the former government. We are responsible for people’s grievances and their resolution. We will take over if we deem it appropriate since PTI government didn’t make agreement with the company”, he announced.
