PTI protestors turn Faizabad into battlefield

RAWALPINDI/ISLAMABAD: The twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi turned into a battlefield on Thursday as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers protesting against the assassination attempt on party chief and former Prime Minister Imran Khan clashed with police on Faizabad entry point.
Clashes between the police and the PTI workers took place at Faizabad Interchange.
PTI workers organized a protest under the leadership of Sadaqat Ali Abbasi. The demonstrators blocked GT Road at the location of Rawat, while a large number of protestor also tried to throng Capital City via Faizabad entry point. All attempts of protestor to do so were met with heavy shelling of tear gas by contingents of Islamabad Police and other law enforcing agencies, deputed in aid of Islamabad Police.
At some occasions, when a few protestors manage to cross over, they were also repulsed through heavy baton charge by Police.
