Public rejects rise in POL rates

ISLAMABAD: The public was up in arms after Prime Minister Imran Khan had increased petroleum prices for the second time in a month with people on social networking website—Twitter—expressing their anger and concerns.
A number of citizens also talking to media persons vent their anger on the petrol price hike and urged the authorities to provide relief to the citizens amid uncertain times when prices of everything is skyrocketing.
Citizens also said that with soaring prices of petroleum products and essential commodities it would be difficult for them to bear the incumbent government’s policies. They outrightly rejected the prike hike terming it their ‘economic murder’.
The new price of petrol is Rs147.83 per litre, high speed diesel (HSD) Rs144.62 per litre, kerosene Rs116.48 and light speed diesel Rs114.54 per litre as Ogra has recommended an increase of Rs5.52 per litre in petrol price and Rs6.19 per litre in HSD.
