Rashid bashes government for weak policies

RAWALPINDI: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed says the recent terrorist attack in Bajaur has further instilled fear among global investors, deterring them from exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan.
Taking on his social media account, the former interior minister said there was a competition of attracting more investments in the world but in Pakistan, the atmosphere was perceived as more fearful and uncertain.
He said the prevailing climate of fear and apprehension had compelled some Pakistani entrepreneurs to make investments in countries like Bangladesh and Africa.
Sheikh Rashid said an alarming number of one million skilled youths were leaving the country, seeking better opportunities elsewhere. The lack of trust in the power of the people and the diminishing significance of laws and regulations in Pakistan were fuelling this migration trend, he said.
Taking a dig at Sharif brothers, he said elder brother was not ready to trust his sibling, adding that how the public could trust them.
As the elections drew near, doubts and suspicions about the holding of polls were intensifying, he said, adding that the restrictions on electronic media would cause further boom of social media. He also slammed the government for spending billions to please the ruling partners.
He said the tenure of the government had entered its final stages, adding that the decisions taken in “Dubai and London” would come to light in next 10 days. –Agencies
