RDU busts 20 of 9 gangs recovering valuables worth Rs.20 million: DIG

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police specialized Robbery and Dacoity Unit (RDU) arrested 20 criminals of 9 gangs in the past 15 Days involved in numerous criminal activities, and resolved 36 cases on merit. Police team also recovered over Rs. 20 Million in stolen goods.
Following the directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq held an important press conference at the Rescue- 15 field office regarding the arrest of accused involved in serious crimes and the recovery of stolen goods.


During the press conference, he stated that within the last 15 days, the Robbery & Dacoity Unit (RDU) police teams arrested 20 accused belonging to 09 notorious gangs involved in murder, robbery, mugging, burglary, and other serious crimes.
Police teams also recovered gold ornaments, cash, and stolen goods worth more than Rs. 20 million from the nabbed accused, and a total of 36 cases were resolved on merit.
On this occasion, he said that with the help of Islamabad Safe City’s modern cameras and effective surveillance, the RDU successfully traced unknown accused involved in murder, robbery, petrol pump hold-ups, house thefts, snatching outside banks, and other serious crimes. Both human intelligence and advanced technological methods were utilized in these operations.
He further stated that Islamabad Police will continue indiscriminate operations against criminal elements in the federal capital, which has led to a noticeable decrease in robberies and other serious crimes in the city.
DIG Jawad Tariq, along with SSP Investigation and SSP Operations, handed over the recovered stolen property to the complainants of the cases. The complainants appreciated the performance of the police teams and thanked Islamabad Police for recovering their belongings.
