In an exclusive interview, Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz said that he is pleased to see his initiative recognized by different quarters in China.
“It’s an honor for me to represent Pakistan and I am always trying to make some positive changes in society and do something for the healthcare system of Pakistan, especially the people in the remote and improvised areas of Pakistan. Their recognition will boost my morale and I will work diligently for the China Pakistan Health Corridor and promote cooperation in the medical sector between China & Pakistan and BRI-related countries”, he mentioned.
In September 2019, the Sino-Pak International Joint Lab for Drug Safety was inaugurated at Xi’an Jiaotong University, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province. In the same year, Shahbaz attended the annual conference of the Belt and Road Tropical Medical Alliance, where he made proposals for meeting the challenges facing the “health corridor.”
While promoting China-Pakistan medical exchanges and cooperation, Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz has left his footprints on a number of places in China and witnessed drastic changes happening to the Chinese people, which has been a source of inspiration for his writing.
“I helped my Pakistani students to participate in Belt and Road TCM online training for better TCM development in Pakistan. To date, the two countries have already kicked off formal cooperation on TCM and herbal medicine”, Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz added.
In 2021 Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz played a key role in medical cooperation among various medical institutes of China and Pakistan, including WHO Traditional Medicine Foundation, Health Services Academy, Shandong Digihuman, Wuhan University & Shanghai University of Science & Technology.
