ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair a meeting of the federal cabinet today (Thursday) which will discuss a 17-point agenda, including removal of names of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah from the Exit Control List (ECL).
A special committee formed for reviewing names of people on ECL will brief the cabinet members and it will be decided whether to remove the names from the no-fly list or file a review petition against the Supreme Court’s decision.
The country’s political, economic and energy situation will also be discussed during the meeting.
The matter of granting a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to former army chief General (retd) Raheel Sharif to work abroad is also expected to be discussed.
According approval for hiring lawyers to pursue money laundering and other cases in the UK is also part of the agenda.
Further, the cabinet will give the go-ahead for decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) and the CPEC cabinet committee. Approval will also be granted for the appointment of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) chairman.
The cabinet will also be briefed on the supply and demand and prices of the cement industry.
Approval for a supplementary grant for families of those government employees who passed away during service will also be discussed during the meeting.
