Road network imperative for development, politics of hate doomed to fail: Rana Sanaullah

FAISALABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan said that a well-planned and integrated road infrastructure was imperative for sustainable development while the politics based on hatred, division and abusive rhetoric had always ended in failure.
Addressing a public gathering during inaugurating reconstruction/improvement of a 30-kilometer major road for 12 villages in his constituency on Sunday, he said that past development schemes were often limited in scope, with roads built in fragments of one or two kilometers, which failed to meet broader needs of the population.
He said that the government had now adopted a comprehensive strategy to connect the entire constituency through a well-structured network of roads so that residents of all villages could have equal access to urban centers and basic facilities.
Highlighting the importance of infrastructure, Rana Sanaullah said that the pace of global development had always been linked with modes of transportation. In earlier times when people travelled on animals like horses and camels, development was slow, but with modern transport such as air travel, the pace of progress had accelerated significantly, he added.
He stressed that development without roads was unimaginable and the government was giving top priority to this sector.
Providing details of the ongoing project, he said that a 30-kilometer-long road was being constructed to connect various rural settlements with main highways, facilitating smooth transportation across the area.
He said that the project would be completed at an estimated cost of around Rs850 million and high-quality material was being used to ensure durability for at least the next decade.
He further said that the road had been designed in a way that it would pass through or near multiple villages while the remaining localities would be connected through link roads, ensuring uniform improvement in mobility across the constituency.
Rana Sanaullah said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) had always promoted politics of development and public service. All major infrastructure projects across the country including hospitals, universities, flyovers, underpasses and motorways were initiated during PMLN regime, he added.
He criticized political opponents for failing to deliver during their tenure and said that they focused on propaganda, accusations and creating divisions among the public instead of working for welfare.
Those lacking the spirit of public service resorted to spreading hatred and negativity to cover their shortcomings while the history had proven that such elements ultimately faced public rejection, he added.
Speaking about law & order, he said that the situation in Punjab had improved significantly, with a visible decline in crime rate and enhanced sense of security among the citizens.
He said that incidents of robbery and street crime that once created fear among the public had reduced considerably while the government was striving hard to further strengthen public safety.
Referring to “Clean Punjab” initiative, he said that sanitation conditions had improved across the province and even remote areas neglected previously were now being provided with proper cleaning services.
He expressed confidence that further improvements would be witnessed in the coming days as the program continued to expand.
On agriculture, he said that the government was taking multiple steps for farmers’ welfare including provision of green tractors, interest-free loans and modern agricultural machinery.
He acknowledged that global inflation and economic pressures had affected both farmers and the common man, but assured that the government was making serious efforts to address these challenges and conditions would gradually improve.
Commenting on the global scenario, Rana Sanaullah said that Pakistan was standing at a position of dignity in the international community and it was respected by major world powers.
He said that despite differences among Muslim countries, Pakistan enjoyed broad respect and recognition, attributing this to the leadership’s sincerity and the nation’s collective support.
He termed it a blessing of Almighty Allah and expressed hope that Pakistan would play a significant role in promoting global peace and emerge as a developed nation.
He urged the public to avoid negative propaganda, adopt a positive mindset and demonstrate unity, saying that national cohesion was vital for steering the country towards progress and prosperity. –Agencies
