Road safety awareness ceremony held

ISLAMABAD: ITP organized a one-day special seminar at Bahria University to raise awareness about road safety and traffic regulations. A large number of students and faculty members attended the event.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, was the chief guest. On this occasion, Director Administration Bahria University Commodore (R) Shaukat Ali, Professor Dr. Adam Saud, and Focal Person Dr. Samra Ashfaq was also present. In his address, the CTO Islamabad emphasized the importance of road safety and stated that adherence to traffic laws is the responsibility of every citizen. He added that educating the younger generation about traffic rules is the need of the hour to help reduce accidents. Officers from the ITP Education Wing gave a detailed briefing to participants on safe driving practices, the use of zebra crossings, the importance of helmets and seat belts, and the dangers of using mobile phones while driving.
On this occasion, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was also signed between Islamabad Traffic Police and Bahria University under the “Friends of Police” program to enhance mutual cooperation.
At the end of the seminar, students pledged that they would not only follow traffic rules themselves but also spread awareness among others. Islamabad Traffic Police will continue organizing such activities to promote road safety awareness among citizens.
