Road safety campaign held at Khayaban Intersection

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of the IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi the Islamabad Traffic Police education wing organized a road safety campaign at Khayaban Intersection.
During the campaign, traffic police officers raised awareness about traffic laws including underage drivers, motorcycle riders without helmets and other road safety regulations. The primary objective of the campaign is to ensure smooth traffic flow in the federal capital Islamabad and to ensure adherence to traffic laws to control accidents.
In this regard, the Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Capt (Retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider issued special instructions to all zonal DSPs to form special teams to take strict legal action against underage drivers, lane violations, failure to wear seat belts and motorcycle riders without helmets while also providing awareness to citizens about traffic laws and road safety.
Additionally, the Islamabad Traffic Police education wing is distributing awareness pamphlets to citizens along with workshops and seminars are being organized at various colleges and universities to raise awareness about road safety and traffic laws among students. CTO Islamabad urged citizens to fulfill their responsibilities, comply with the law and prevent underage children from driving vehicles or motorcycles to ensure the protection of precious lives.
Adhering to traffic laws and maintaining an organized traffic system in Islamabad is among the top priorities of Islamabad Traffic Police, he added.
