Rs411,500 fine imposed on 1642 hoarders

RAWALPINDI: Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Tahir Farooq was apprised of the actions taken by Price Magistrates against hoarding and profiteering in daily review meeting held in DC Office here yesterday.
It was informed that during the last 24 hours, a total of 1642 inspections were carried out in Rwp District during which 270 violations were reported and a total Fine of Rs.411,500 was made 29 persons were arrested, 11 FIRs and 33 buildings were sealed.
According to the details, 15 violations were found during 294 inspections and imposed a fine of Rs. 26,000 and 02 buildings were sealed at Gujar khan. Assistant Commissioner (Kahuta) and her staff carried out 154 inspections and imposed a fine of Rs. 2,500 for 24 violations.
In Tehsil Kallar Syedan, fine of Rs. 2,000 was imposed due to 11 violations out of 153 inspections.
During 88 inspections in Murree Tehsil, 37 violations were fined Rs 5,000 and 04 buildings were sealed. During 219 raids in Rwp Cant, fine of Rs. 57,500 was imposed for 32 violations and 09 persons were arrested.
37 violation was found during 128 inspections at Rwp City and fine of 201,500 was imposed and 18 persons were arrested, 25 buildings were sealed. 86 violations were reported during 420 inspections in Rwp Saddar and fine of 81,000 was imposed and 02 persons were arrested, 05 FIRs and 02 buildings were sealed. During 156 inspections in Taxila Tehsil, Rs 36,000 was fined for 28 violations and 06 FIRs has been registered.
