ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) was informed on Monday that the government had transferred Rs 5 million as aid to the account of the family of a missing person Omar Abdullah.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the petition filed by Zainab Zaeem, the wife of missing citizen Omar Abdullah, in the IHC.
Omar Abdullah’s father, Khalid Abbasi Advocate, informed the court about this development. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense also appeared in the court and the court was given an in-camera briefing.
During the hearing, the Additional Attorney General presented a report regarding the missing citizen in the court and requested that the court might review this report before in-camera briefing.
The petitioner’s lawyer reminded the court that in 2018, the IHC had imposed fines on some officials in the case of a missing citizen, but these orders have not been implemented till date. The court, raised the question of what action was taken against these officials.
Justice Kayani took notice of the lack of any action despite the court order. The hearing of the case was later adjourned.
