ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), under the National Heritage and Culture Division, on Monday staged the experimental theater production “Saahil Ki Rait” in collaboration with Dastaan Theatre, Pakistan Academy of Letters, National Book Foundation, Ahmed Faraz Trust and Zavia.
Written by renowned poet Ahmed Faraz and directed by theater practitioner Arshad Minhas, the play was presented as a blend of lyrical expression and contemporary experimental staging, reviving literary theatre in the federal capital.
The reflective production explored the fragile relationship between love, imagination and reality, raising the central question of whether people fall in love with another person or with the world they construct around them.
“They say that when we speak, flowers fall from our words… If that is true, then let us speak and see what blooms,” read a poetic note from the performance that resonated strongly with the audience.
Organisers said the performance aimed to present theatre as a space for emotional and intellectual reflection and to reconnect audiences, particularly the youth, with classical poetic traditions through modern performance techniques.
The event, held at PNCA with free public entry, drew an appreciative audience and was widely lauded for its artistic depth and evocative presentation.
