ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah met with Wapda Chairman Lt. Gen (R) Muhammad Saeed on Monday to review key issues related to water and energy development.
The meeting focused on water resource management, the progress of ongoing Wapda projects, and strengthening Inter-Provincial Coordination, said a statement issued here.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanaullah stressed the need to build consensus among all provinces for development projects of national importance.
He said that national interest demands unified action on critical infrastructure initiatives.
Both sides reviewed measures to enhance the country’s water storage capacity and assessed the status of projects currently underway.
The minister underscored the importance of the timely completion of energy and water projects, calling for concrete steps to remove bottlenecks.
Sanaullah reiterated that the initiation and completion of development projects must proceed with provincial consensus to ensure transparency, equity, and long-term sustainability.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari on Tuesday said that nearly 25 percent of IESCO consumers have been equipped with AMI meters, which amounts to around 1.1 to 1.2 million meters installations. He described this as a key step towards modernizing the power sector.
