SC annuls verdict to forcefully retire 13 judges

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday annulled the decision of the judicial tribunal to forcefully retire 13-judges of the court. A three-member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard the petition against the verdict of the judicial tribunal.
During the course of the hearing Judge Justice Aijaz Ul Hassan said that Judge Shah Hussain assets increased three times within two year while the assets of the judge reached Rs 35 million from Rs 6.4 million till when he became a senior civil judge. To which, the petitioner counsel said that the judge was not charged with assets beyond income allegations in a show-cause notice while his client informed the market value of his properties in the performa adding that his client has same properties, he just described his properties market value while the judicial tribunal gave a superficial decision.
