NANNING: More than 7,000 middle school teachers and students from 57 countries and regions are attending the “6th Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp & Teacher Workshop,” which opened in Nanning, capital of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on Tuesday.
Participants can share abundant learning resources and join exchange activities such as dialogues with scientists and scientific seminars — both offline and online — at the camp.
More than 500 transportation experts will deliver popular science courses to the teenagers, while engineering and technology personnel from more than 20 enterprises will provide them with online tutoring.
Participants can also visit China online and experience traditional Chinese culture in the process.
The camp aims to build a platform for teachers and students from countries along the Belt and Road to communicate with each other and improve the teenagers’ scientific literacy, according to the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).
The camp, jointly sponsored by the CAST, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the regional governments of Guangxi and Chongqing Municipality, will last until the end of November. –Agencies
