ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a search and combing operation in the jurisdiction of Sangjani police station.
Following the special directives to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the search and combing operations are being conducted in different areas of the city, to ensure the safety and security of the Islamabad citizens.
Following these orders, a search and combing operation was conducted in different areas of Sangjani police station by CTD, quick response team and local police under the supervision of SP (Operations), DSP (operation) Counter terrorism department. During the search and combing operation 26 suspects, 03 Motorcycles and 20 houses were checked. While, 06 automatic machine guns and pistols with ammunition were recovered.
IGP Islamabad said that, the purpose of the search and combing operations was to heighten the security in the federal capital. All zonal officers were directed to continue these operations in their respective areas. Citizens are also requested to cooperate with police during the checking.
13 outlaws arrested; drugs and weapons recovered
Islamabad: Islamabad capital police apprehended 13 outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered weapons with ammunition from their possession.
Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directives, the BharaKahu police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Aamir involved in possessing illegal weapons and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession. Phulgran police team arrested an accused namely Yasir involved in drug peddling and recovered 610 gram heroin from his possession.
Similarly, the Khanna police team arrested 03 accused namely Kamal, Adeel, Ajmal involved in possessing illegal weapons and drug peddling and recovered two 30 bore pistols and 1140 gram hashish from their possession. The Nilore police team arrested an accused namely Shahnaz involved in possessing drug peddling and recovered 1385 gram hashish from his possession.
Moreover, the Kirpa police team arrested an accused namely WaqarQali involved in possessing illegal weapons and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession. The Industrial Area police team arrested two accused namely Ghulam Abbas and Ali Khan and recovered one 30 bore pistol and 530 gram hashish from their possession.
During the crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders, the Islamabad capital police team arrested four absconders and proclaimed offenders from different areas of the city. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
IGP Islamabad directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons. The performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis, he maintained.
Crackdown against Kite Sellers, flyers continues
Islamabad: The Islamabad capital police have urged the citizens not to allow their children to violate the kite flying ban imposed by the district administration else strict action in accordance with the law would be taken and the ban violators would be sent behind the bars.
Khanna police team arrested an accused namely Fareedinvolved in kites selling and recovered kites and flying string rolls from his possession. Case has been registered against the nabbed accused.
Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police were taking strict action in accordance with the law.
The parents are requested to stop their children from getting involved in such activities as a crackdown against kite sellers and flyers had already been accelerated in the city. Special squads had been formed to net the violators while SDPO’s and Station House Officers were also taking part in the operation. The officers concerned had been directed to utilize all available resources to control the kite flying and selling and to net the ban violators and the kite sellers. The kite flying ban violators were being dealt with an iron hand and no one would be allowed to violate the law and indulge in kite flying and selling.
The use of metal string for kite flying results in the loss of human lives therefore, all-out efforts are made to stop kite flying. The kite flying not only causes power outages due to hitting electric wires. It becomes a threat to human lives, while young people fall from the rooftops and become victims of life-long illness.
The people had also been requested to report such activities to their nearest police stations and police helpline “Pukar-15”.
