ISLAMABAD: The federal government has extended the deployment of security agen-cies in Gilgit-Baltistan by one year.
According to the sources, the federal cabinet approved the extension of the deploy-ment of Army, Rangers, GB Scouts and FC in the Gilgit-Baltistan.
The sources said the interior ministry had sent a summary of the extension of the armed forces in the GB. The deployment of the Army has been extended by one year till June 30, 2024.
The army would be deployed for CPEC projects and Karakoram Highway. The stay of Rangers in Gilgit-Baltistan had also been extended by one year. –Agencies
