Lahore: The first selection committee’s meeting under the newly appointed chief selector, Mohammad Waseem will take place earlier next week, sources told ARY News.
The meeting will be attended by all head coaches of cricket associations and it will discuss players’ performance on the New Zealand tour before selecting a team for the home series.
The team will be announced before January 17 after which the selected players will go bio-secure bubble following COVID-19 protocols. The players will also undergo COVID-19 testing upon their arrival at the centre station.
Meanwhile, the South African team will arrive in Karachi on January 16 and will stay in quarantine for the next five days. The visiting bunch will undergo COVID-19 testing and initially will train in a local club near the hotel. Later on, South Africa will be training at the National High-Performance Centre in Karachi.
It must be noted here that Pakistan and South Africa will play the first Test at National Stadium Karachi from January 26 while the second and last Test will be played in Rawalpindi from February 4.
The three T20Is are scheduled in Lahore on February 11, 13 and 14.
