ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops have arrested nine outlaws including two drug smugglers and recovered narcotics, wine and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said. According to details, SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer has directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city.

In pursuance of these orders, SP Industrial Area Zone Fida Hussain Satti constituted a special police team under the supervision of DSP Nawaz Bhatti including SHO Noon police Station Sub-Inspector Ishtiaq Shah along with others for special checking in the area. This team nabbed two drug smugglers Identified as Ghulam Ghaznfar and Ehsan Abbas and recovered 2560 gram hashish from their possession. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway from them.
Moreover SP City Zone) Rana Abdul Wahab constituted specials police team under the supervision of ASP Asad Ali, SHO Bhara Kahu Habib Butt alongwith other officials conducted operation and arrested 2 land-grabbers namely Danish and Perviz resident of Bhara Khau.
Furthermore Shahzad Town police arrested accused Khalid Hussain and recovered
Six tin beer and two wine bottles from him. Koral police arrested two accused Shahid Saleem and Abid Hussain and recovered two pistols along with ammunition from their possession. Tarnol police arrested accused Aqib and recovered 30 bore pistol from him. Banigala police arrested accused Nasir and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him.
Cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kausar and SSP Operations have appreciated this performance of police teams. SSP directed all police officers to continue crackdown against land-grabbers and drug peddler in the Capital.
He said that prime responsibility of police is to protect the lives and property of citizens and all out efforts would be made in this regard.

20,519 vehicles fined for tinted glasses

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) during ongoing campaign against vehicles with tinted glasses fined 20,519 vehicles and have also constituted special squads to deal the hazard effectively.
As per directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ul-Rehman, the ITP has accelerated efforts to take action against those vehicles having tinted glasses. Special squads have been constituted for the purpose which have been also directed to remove tinted glasses from vehicles.
SSP Traffic Syed Karrar Hussain Shah has also urged the citizens to follow. He also appealed to avoid using tinted glasses and follow traffic rules to ensure safe road environment in the city. He has directed to take strict action against the tinted glass vehicles as per law with a purpose to eliminate the VIP culture.
The SSP ordered to check every violation and issue violation ticket to every violator. “The elimination of VIP culture and equal application of law are
our main objectives which would be achieved at every cost,” he maintained. He also directed his staff to continue education campaign and inculcate traffic sense among the road users along with the enforcement of law.
Karrar Hussain also stressed the need to bridge the gap between police and public through polite attitude and by demonstrating sense of responsibility. The SSP Traffic said that this campaign will remain continue in the coming days to curb this violation effectively.
The SSP said that Zonal In-Charge would be solely responsible if any vehicle with tinted glasses was observed on roads. He directed officials of police squads to accelerate action against tinted glass vehicles and said that he would himself review the performance on regular basis in this regard.
