Karachi: Emerging pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has achieved a career-best spot in the ICC ODI Bowler Rankings, which were released on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old has jumped eight places to 16th spot with 621 ranking points to become only the second Pakistan bowler after Mohammad Amir (eighth) to feature inside the top-20.
Wahab Riaz after taking five wickets in the Zimbabwe series has now moved to 60th place while Mohammad Hasnain has taken a massive jump from the 202nd position to the 120th spot.
Shadab Khan dropped down to 30th, Imad Wasim to 49th, Usman Shinwari to 44th while Hasan Ali to 49th.
New Zealand’s Trent Boult is at the top spot, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah and Afghanistan’s Mujeeb-ur-Rehman ranked second and third, respectively.
Meanwhile, in batsmen rankings, Pakistan’s white-ball skipper Babar Azam has edged closer to the second spot in the ICC ODI Batsman Rankings. He has retained third-ranking but has gained 8 points to rise to 837 points after scoring 221 runs.
The 26-year-old now trails behind India’s Rohit Sharma by 18 points, while Virat Kohli is ranked number-one on 871 points.
Imam-ul-Haq has been dropped to 12th from 11th, Fakhar Zaman to 18th from 21th while Haris Sohail has retained his 33rd spot.
