In September, Shamoon Abbasi announced that he is taking retirement from showbiz to do a normal job. Lately, he has joined politics and became a member of the media development department of PTI.
He revealed his purpose of joining politics and said, “I’ve joined PTI, not as a politician. I’ve joined the development department of the media industry. We’ve created and forwarded new policies that the government has accepted and started implementing.” “Thankfully, Prime Minister Imran Khan is supporting us because there are no formal agreements, lots of issues arise in payments,” he added.
The department will be concerned about the agreement issue of employees. “We will be making this a legal issue. A department is being created which will visit sets without notice and make sure things are functioning professionally. If a producer has employed someone without an agreement, he will be questioned and we will work things out accordingly.”
He also shared that a summit was held where actors, producers, technicians were invited to share their problems and most of them had payment issue. Shamon Abbasi has also suggested the government to fund our own projects so that any movie or drama on different themes can be made.
