Shanghai to launch Red culture festival

Shanghai: Shanghai, the birthplace of the Communist Party of China, will launch the Glorious City 2024 Shanghai Red Culture Season from May to July to promote and honor its Red culture heritage.
Spanning three months, the red culture season comprises 56 key projects and 75 citywide featured activities centered on the essence of red culture, spanning publishing, exhibitions, arts and films, social education, field trips, and red tourism and cultural creativity.
The arts and film section of the culture season will premiere the documentary dance film The Eternal Wave and showcase locally produced red-themed classics including dance dramas, operas and stage plays. The red tourism programs will upgrade the bus line connecting the sites of the first, second and fourth National Congress of the CPC, launch the red culture tour line along the Huangpu River and open-air red museum and more, aiming at enriching red culture experiences.
Key exhibitions showcasing theoretical innovations and tangible achievements are being unveiled, including an exhibition illustrating the advancements of Marxism’s adaptation to Chinese contexts. Jointly presented by the Memorial of the First National Congress of the CPC and Sun Yat-sen University, it displays Marx’s handwritten notes of On Poland from the university’s collection in Shanghai for the first time. –The Daily Mail-China Daily news exchange item
