ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President, Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is running the country’s economy through words rather than logic and performance.
In a statement here, the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly said that since the ruling party took over, the interest rate and inflation rose 14 and 15 per cent, respectively. “The public has been deprived of flour and sugar,” he said. Shehbaz Sharif said that the current government is blaming the previous governments and taking credit for their work.
“Jungles will provide jobs, while peace will be in grave,” said Shehbaz, mocking PM Imran for his earlier statement regarding achieving state of peace in Pakistan.
In reaction, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Shehbaz Sharif’s statement was ‘tale of the PML-N loot and plunder from his own mouth’. She said that it was ironic that those who pushed the people in the quagmire of problems were now talking about their resolution.
Dr. Awan said that Shehbaz Sharif was drawing salary and perks from the Parliament but not performing his duties as opposition leader.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday criticised Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Shehbaz Sharif, saying that he should announce the date of his return to the country, media reported.
Firdous slammed the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly in her Twitter messages, said: “Shehbaz Sahib! ‘Saari Gallan Di Ik Gal’ [come to a conclusion], when are you returning to the country?” She added that bringing disaster to the national economy is the outcome of Sharifs and former finance minister Ishaq Dar.
She also censured PML-N leader Rana Sana by saying that he should worry about his narcotics case instead of thinking about the govt. Firdous added Rana Sanaullah has only managed to get bail in his case but not acquitted by the court. The SAPM said that Shehbaz Sharif had done nothing for the country except juggling and making high claims of dragging Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari on streets.–Agencies
