Six including house maid put behind bars

-16 bikes, gold ornaments recovered

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops, while operating against anti-social elements, arrested five bike lifters and a house maid besides recovery of 16 stolen bikes, cash and gold ornaments from them.

According to details, following the directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed assigned task to Zonal SPs to accelerate efforts against auto-thieves and car-lifters. Following his directions, SP Saddar Sarfraz Ahmed Virk constituted a police team under the supervision of ASP Rana Abdul Wahab including PS Ramana’s SHO SI Rasheed Ahmed along with others. The given team caught a house maid namely Sameena Ejaz and recovered gold ornaments and cash from her. A case has been registered against her and further investigation is underway.

Moreover, SP Saddar constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP Abid Ikram including PS Karachi Company’s SHO SI Saleem Raza, SI Murtaza Qamer along with other officials. The team achieved success and apprehended two members of a bike lifter’s gang. The gangsters have been identified as Sohaib Akhtar R/O Alnoor Colony, Rawalpindi and Inzamam Haseeb R/O Gangal, Rawalpindi while police recovered six stolen motorbikes from their possession as well.

Likewise, SP City Muhammad Omer Khan constituted a police team under the supervision of ASP Rana Hussain Tahir including PS Bani Gala’s SHO SI Main Muhammad Imran along with other officials. The team apprehended three members of a bike lifter’s gang and recovered ten bikes from them. The gangsters have been identified as Anwar-Ul-Haq, Adeel and Aftab.
Moreover, during preliminary investigation, the crooks have confessed of lifting the motorcycles from various parts of the twin cities and later selling them. Separate cases have been registered against the persons while further investigation is underway from the accused.
IGP Islamabad, Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, on the other hand, and DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed, have appreciated the performance of the police team and directed the officials to intensify efforts to curb car and motorbike lifting incidents.
