ISLAMABAD: SK Hydro (Private) Limited donated USD 20,000 to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Flood Relief and Rehabilitation Fund to aid reconstruction in disaster-affected areas near the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project.
The donation ceremony was attended by Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (KPK), Secretary of Relief, Rehabilitation & Settlement Department KPK, Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority – PDMA KPK, and Deputy General Manager of SK Hydro (Private) Limited.
The Chief Secretary extended sincere gratitude for SK Hydro (Private) Limited’s long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility in the local community, particularly its swift relief support following the recent floods. He emphasized that the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project has become a key pillar driving Pakistan’s economic growth and supporting people’s livelihoods through its clean, efficient and reliable power supply since it was commercially launched. He reaffirmed that all levels of governments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province would continue supporting the project’s development to expand its role in ensuring energy supply and driving green transformation.
Since the 2025 floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, SK Hydro (Private) Limited quickly deployed teams to repair roads, clear waterways, and restore access, while its Chinese and Pakistani staff also spontaneously donated PKR 1,275,200 to help local communities combat the disaster.
This USD 20,000 donation aims to further support disaster-affected areas near the project in post-disaster reconstruction and resumption of normal life and economic activities.
These concrete actions demonstrate CEEC’s commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities, and its contributions to building a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era and advancing the all-weather friendship between the two nations.
Funded, constructed, and operated by China Energy Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project has delivered over 3 billion kWh of clean electricity to Pakistan to date.
While maintaining stable power supply, the project consistently upholds its social responsibilities.
This USD 20,000 donation represents another significant practice in fulfilling its local development commitments.
