—Islamabad police arrested a snatcher in 06 hours after the incident
ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas returned looted money worth Rs 7.5 million to the aggrieved citizen. The IGP made this announcement at a ceremony held here at CPO office Islamabad. The citizen, spokesperson said, paid heartiest thanks to Islamabad Police and appreciated the efforts.
DIG Operations Awais Ahmad, SSP Operations and SP Sadar were also present on the occasion. On January, 4 2022 at 09:20 PM, a citizen informed police that he was present in front of his house located at Sector G-11 when an unknown accused suddenly came and snatched his money Rs. 7.5 million on gunpoint.
On his information, PS Ramna registered an FIR No. 17/22 under section 392 PPC and started investigation. SP Sadar Tasawwar Iqbal immediately rushed to the crime scene and met with complainant. He constituted special police team headed by SHO Ramna Akhtar Zaman alongwith other officials who traced the accused on technical grounds and arrested him in a short time of six hours. The accused was later identified as Haq Nawaz Satti a resident of Lehtrar bala Kotli Sattian. Police team also recovered looted money worth Rs. 7.5 million and weapon used in crime.
The citizen appreciated and thanked IGP Islamabad and his team for prompt responses. The IGP said on the occasion that Islamabad police is taking all out efforts to curb the crime and to save the lives and property of the citizens.
