Soldier martyred in Awaran

RAWALPINDI: One soldier was martyred while security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) against the in Balochistan s Awaran area on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation on confirmation of presence of terrorists in Jatt Bazar, near Awaran, Balochistan. Due to intense exchange of fire with terrorists during operation, Lance Naik Muhammad Iqbal was injured and immediately evacuated to Karachi. However, the brave soldier embraced martyrdom due to excessive bleeding. Security forces have successfully cleared the entire area of Jatt Bazar.
On September 19, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation on confirmation of presence of terrorists in Awaran district of Balochistan had killed four terrorists in exchange of fire. The statement from the army s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations, said the terrorists hideout and a logistic base were destroyed while a large cache of arms, ammunition and communication equipment recovered. The army statement did not provide information about the affiliation of the terrorists.–ISPR
