Karachi: Southern Punjab have claimed their second consecutive win in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2020/21 at National Stadium in Karachi.
Shan Masood led SP beat Balochistan by four wickets courtesy of Salman Ali Agha unbeaten 42 on the final day of the match.
SP started day 3 at 70-3 with 83 runs needed. Saif Badar (23*) and Umar Siddique (4) resumed the inning. Saif was removed by Khurram Shehzad on a score of 37 while Umar made 22.
Salman Ali carried the SP’s innings and chased down the target just after Lunch. His 83-ball inning included seven fours. For Balochistan, Yasir Shah picked three while Khurram took two.
Yesterday, SP restricted Baluchistan to 112 in the second inning. Imran Butt scored the highest 32 runs for Baluchistan. Zahid Mehmood picked four wickets while debutant Dilbar Hussain took two.
In the first innings, Balochistan with the help of Imran Butt (92) and Imran Farhat (116) scored 372-10 in the first inning. In reply, SP were bowled out for 331 runs leaving Baluchistan 41 runs ahead.
