ISLAMABAD: A dignified farewell ceremony was held at the Central Police Office Islamabad in honor of Superintendent of Police Rukhsar Mehdi, who retired after 38 years of service in Islamabad Police.
The ceremony was attended by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi as the chief guest, while other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.
IGP Islamabad appreciated SP Rukhsar Mehdi services, stating that he served the Islamabad Police with dedication, hard work and integrity. His contributions will always be remembered for shaping Islamabad Police into a model force. He added that the retiring officer devoted a significant part of his life to public service through the police department and in return the department gives him respect, dignity and recognition for which one should be grateful to Almighty Allah. SP Rukhsar Mehdi joined Islamabad Police in 1987 as an Assistant Sub-Inspector and served in various roles including Deputy Superintendent of Police and Superintendent of Police.
After his promotion to SP rank, he was entrusted with the responsibilities of SP Crime Investigation Agency and prior to retirement, he was serving in the Organized Crime Unit/Investigation.
IGP Islamabad presented the retiring officer with an honorary police shield and gifts and extended his best wishes for his future endeavours.
He further said that Rukhsar Mehdi services will always be remembered as he played a vital role in uplifting the reputation of the police force.
