ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Police have intensified efforts to make the federal capital drug-free and to protect the younger generation from the menace of narcotics under the ongoing campaign “Nasha Ab Nahi.”
In this regard, Islamabad Police are conducting special awareness lectures in educational institutions to educate students about the harmful effects of drug use and the importance of prevention.
As part of this initiative, police officers from the SDPO Ramna Circle and SHO Kirpa Police Station delivered awareness sessions for students, highlighting the physical, mental, and social damage caused by narcotics.
During the lectures, students were informed that drug use is extremely dangerous to their health and future, particularly for youth. The officers urged students to stay away from drugs themselves and to play an active role in protecting others around them from this social evil. They emphasised that, with the cooperation of parents and teachers, young people can be safeguarded from falling into drug addiction.
Students were also urged to immediately inform the police about any suspicious drug-related activity in their surroundings, stressing that public cooperation is essential to eliminate this menace. Police officials stated that Islamabad Police, in coordination with other law-enforcement agencies, are taking comprehensive measures to curb drug trafficking, including the formation of special teams to apprehend drug dealers operating near educational institutions.
Islamabad Police reiterated their resolve to bring those involved in drug peddling to justice and urged citizens to actively support the “Nasha Ab Nahi” campaign.
In case of any information regarding narcotics or suspicious activities, citizens were advised to contact their nearest police station or call the emergency helpline “Pucar-15”
