Special events underway during ongoing Ghazi Week

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi the Islamabad Police continues to organize various events in connection with “Ghazi Week” to honor the brave personnel of the force.
These events were attended by IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, senior officers of Islamabad Police, ghazis and their families.


In this regard, special arrangements were made for ghazis, their families and children at the Traffic Theme Park and F-9 Park mega zone including a grand feast for the families and recreational activities for children.
Additionally, firing competitions were also held at Police Lines Headquarters Islamabad where all ghazis and their families were specially invited. Special firing contests were organized among the ghazis and prizes were distributed among officers who showed outstanding performance.
IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi stated that 131 officers of Islamabad Police have earned the title of “Ghazi.” These officers stood tall in the line of duty, got injured without fearing for their lives and are now considered the brave and invaluable assets of the nation.
He said that the spirit of sacrifice is bestowed only upon the brave sons of a nation. The families of those who sacrificed for the country also deserve the highest respect. Those who sacrifice their present for the future of others will always be remembered in history. He further said that these individuals are the true embodiment of courage and have written legendary tales of bravery. The best way to seek the pleasure of Allah is by easing the lives of his people.
He expressed immense pride in standing among these ghazis stating that such pride could not be felt at any other ceremony. Similar events will continue to be held in the future to forever honor the eternal sacrifices of our ghazis.
