ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, a special media cell has been established under the supervision of AIG Operations during Muharram to maintain religious harmony and prevent sectarian and linguistic hatred.
In this regard, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that preventing extremism will help curb terrorism and enhance the security of the federal capital.
Moreover, Islamabad police teams will visit various educational and religious institutions and review sermons in masjids to curb extremism.
Similarly, this cell will review extremist content on social media and websites, including political, linguistic, sectarian, and religious material, and report on it, as well as identify crimes associated with extremism, which will be subject to legal action.
The public is also requested to avoid such negative activities on social media.
Legal action will also be taken against individuals involved in such negative activities.
Citizens can report any such activities on the emergency helpline “Pukar-15” or via “ICT-15” apps.
