FAISALABAD: The Spring Festival celebrations at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad in the full swing. On Wednesday, Kabadi match was held at tent pegging ground in which team VC11 has won the match by defeating Deans 11.
Moreover, a three-day greyhound race has concluded in which more than hundred different imported and countrybred greyhounds were brought in front of speculators.
On Thursday three-day tent pegging will begin whereas an international horticultural conference will also be held.
University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan along with Treasurer Umar Saeed Qadri, Principal Officer Estate Management Dr. Qamar Bilal, Director Farms Dr Haroon Zaman, Dr Ahsan Sattar and others witnessed the activities.
Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that UAF spring festival besides providing an environment of entertainment also helps further strengthen the ties with the farming community, industry and other stakeholders. He added that the university was making all-out efforts to enlighten the people with rural culture. He said that the nations, who remain induct with their culture, flourish and prosperous in the world.
Dr. Qamar Bilal said that tens of thousands from the four corners of the province are coming to witness the colorful activities.
Dr Haroon Zaman said that Spring Festival provides an attractive and vibrant environment to the community.
