London: One of the greatest squash players Pakistan has ever produced, Azam Khan, has passed away at the age of 95 due to coronavirus here on Saturday.
Azam is one of the thousands of victims of the current global epidemic. He was admitted into the hospital after being tested positive for COVID-19 last week. His son Wasil Khan has confirmed the demise.
Brother of great Hashim Khan, who won first British Open for Pakistan in 1951, and a prominent member of Khan dynasty, Azam achieved several laurels for his country. He remained British Open champion for four consecutive years from 1959 and 1962.
It must be noted here that Coronavirus is a widely-spread virus that has taken thousands of lives to date. Almost all the countries across the world are fighting with this pandemic.
