ISLAMABAD: SSP Operations Islamabad held a crime combat meeting at his office. The meeting was attended by all additional SHOs. During the meeting, SSP Operations directed all officers to launch a crackdown against members of active gangs involved in motorcycle theft and to ensure the arrest of proclaimed offenders and habitual criminals involved in heinous crimes.
SSP Operations also instructed all officers to take strict legal action against those involved in the display of weapons, aerial firing, and drug trafficking. He emphasized that each officer should remain visible in the field and play an active role in crime prevention.
He further said, patrolling and emergency response units must enhance their presence across all city sectors to ensure public safety and should improve their operational effectiveness, and all available resources must be utilized to curb criminal activity.
Protecting the lives and property of citizens and providing them with every possible facility remains our top priority, he added.
Earlier, Following the special directives of Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Capt (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider, Islamabad Traffic Police is taking effective steps to protect the city from environmental pollution and ensure safe travel for its citizens.
In this regard, legal action has been taken against 1,664 smoke-emitting public service vehicles and those without fitness certificates during the current year.
