SSP Ops reviews Muharram procession routes

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi SSP Operations Islamabad Muhammad Shoaib Khan visited the proposed routes of Muharram processions in the federal capital. He was accompanied by zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs.
On this occasion, the SSP Operations conducted a detailed review of the security arrangements and instructed all officers deployed for security duty to remain on high alert.
He emphasized that all procession routes must be fully cordoned off and that adequate lighting must be ensured.
He stated that foolproof security arrangements are being implemented for Muharram processions and majalis, and that strict compliance with the prescribed SOPs will be ensured.
He further added that Islamabad Police is fully committed to providing comprehensive security during Muharram-ul-Haram. All necessary measures are being taken to promote inter-sect harmony and tolerance.
In line with the vision of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi efforts will be made to ensure religious harmony and maintain peace and order throughout Muharram in the federal capital.
