ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, SSP Safe City Islamabad Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, along with his team visited the National Center for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI) at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Islamabad. During the visit, he met with the Project Director of NCAI.
The visit focused on key discussions regarding the effective use of artificial intelligence (AI)-based applications within the Safe City Islamabad project. Both sides agreed to continue and strengthen cooperation between the Islamabad Police and NCAI on AI-powered technologies.
Currently, Safe City Islamabad operates 700 AI-enabled surveillance cameras at various strategic locations throughout the city. These cameras play a vital role in effective monitoring and have contributed significantly to crime prevention and law enforcement.
On this occasion, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal stated that Safe City Islamabad is committed to leveraging technology in line with modern policing requirements. He added that even more advanced AI-driven surveillance systems will be introduced in the future.
He emphasized that Safe City Islamabad remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the residents of the federal capital and maintaining law and order through technology-driven solutions.
